Anemia Profile

1600

When there is a shortage of red blood cells, people suffer from numerous symptoms like dizziness, pale skin, and shortness of breath. This condition is called anemia. This profile includes various blood tests that can help identify causes of Anemia, assess the body’s vitamin levels and also assess overall blood health.

Anemia can occur due to different conditions, which is why this profile is used, as it helps physicians find out the causes of anemia and discern whether anemia is present due to iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency, or other underlying conditions. Early diagnosis is important because it helps doctors come up with an accurate diagnosis.

The CBC (Complete Blood Count) test tells about the haemoglobin levels and red blood cell count. Serum Ferritin is used to measure the body's iron stores, while Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) evaluates the blood's ability to transport iron and helps distinguish between different types of iron-related disorders. Vitamin B12 is essential for the production of healthy red blood cells and proper nerve function, and its deficiency can lead to megaloblastic anemia and neurological symptoms. The anemia profile has all of these tests, and it helps doctors come up with an accurate diagnosis.
