PET-CT: is a nuclear imaging test to identify an appropriate site from which a biopsy would yield adequate representative tissue for diagnosis. This test usually prescribed by the doctors to cancer patients but beyond oncology, it has applications in patients with fever of unknown origin, Dementia, preoperative evaluation of complex partial epilepsy, movement disorders or Parkinson disease and to assess cardiac viability. DTPA Scan: DTPA SCAN or DTPA renal scan (or renal dynamic scan or diuretic renography) is a minimally invasive procedure for monitoring the functioning of kidneys. It is indicated in antenatal Hydronephrosis, adult-onset hypertension-enalapril study, renal transplant evaluation, donor evaluation and evaluation of Hydronephrotic kidney. It is the only test which allows calculating GFR /differential function of each kidney separately.

Stress Thallium Scan: Stress Thallium Scan (or Myocardial perfusion imaging) is a nuclear imaging test which tells about blood flow into your heart. it can be used to diagnose CAD, evaluation of patients post CABG, post-stenting, to check the hemodynamic significance of blockage on Coronary Angiography, preanesthetic check-up of patients for non-cardiac surgeries, etc.

DMSA SCAN: A DMSA scan enables the doctor to evaluate the amount of normal functioning tissue of your kidneys. Doctors can measure the relative function of each kidney to see if one kidney functions differently to the other. This test is usually prescribed by the doctors for pyelonephritis, renal scarring, recurrent UTI and for patients with VUR.

Bone scan (Bone scintigraphy)- A bone scan is most commonly utilized in metastatic work up. The bone scan is much more sensitive than X-ray. It is also useful in conditions like stress fractures, AVN, prosthetic infections.  It can help doctors to diagnose and evaluate a variety of bone diseases and conditions. CT-SCAN: is computed tomography scan uses x-rays and computer to make pictures of the inside of your body. This scan has many applications but particularly it is used to quickly examine the internal injuries of the body, it can visualize almost all part of the body and is used to plan medical, surgical and radiation treatment. THYROID SCAN– Basically it is an imaging procedure for examining Thyroid, the gland that controls the metabolism of the body. The thyroid scan is a simple 30 min test to differentiate between causes of thyrotoxicosis. This is also useful in guiding biopsies from cold nodules. before this scan you need to tell your physician if you have allergies to iodine, medications, and anesthetics.

MPI SCAN: myocardial perfusion imaging often called nuclear stress test is a non-invasive nuclear test which tells about blood flow into the heart or how well the muscle of the heart is pumping. For example, if someone has a chest and got abnormal MPI Scan result the next step will be coronary angiogram means doctors determine by this if you should undergo a coronary angiogram.

Brain scan: Brain scan has its application for assist in surgical planning and identify the areas of the brain that may be causing seizures, evaluate for abnormalities in a chemical in the brain involved in controlling movement in patients with suspected Parkinson’s disease or related movement disorders, evaluation for suspected brain tumor recurrence, surgical or radiation planning or localization for biopsy. Parathyroid Scan– Parathyroid scan is a nuclear imaging technique used to examine the function and health of parathyroid gland present in front of the neck. It releases parathyroid hormone in the body which regulates calcium ion concentration in the blood and within the bone. It is useful to find out parathyroid adenoma.

HIDA/Hepatobiliary Scan- HIDA or hepatobiliary scan is a nuclear imaging procedure used to evaluate any functional disability of the liver, gall bladder, and bile duct. It is also prescribed to diagnose acute/ chronic cholecystitis, obstruction of the bile duct, complications from gall bladder surgery or follow up on a liver transplant.

Lungs V/Q scan:  This test is used in the assessment of pulmonary embolism, means to look for evidence for any blood clot in the lungs. There is no specific preparation needed for a VQ scan other than having a recent chest X-ray examination, which doctor will discuss with you.

MUGA Scan– MUGA scan is a nuclear medicine imaging technique which used to evaluate the cardiac functions and ventricular wall movement with the use of a small quantity of radiopharmaceutical substance to create the image. The primary purpose of this test is to calculate the Ejection Fraction.

I-131 MIGB SCAN:- MIGB scan is a nuclear scan that involves an injection of a radioactive medication called iodine-123 meta-iodobenzylguanidine – MIBG for short. Doctors refer to this test for diagnosis and to detect the presence, absence, or spread of a known or new tumor when he might suspect the presence of a neuroendocrine (nerve-related) tumor.

I-131 WB Scan:-I-131 WB scan is a whole body nuclear imaging procedure that uses a radioactive tracer substance to identify patients with thyroid cancer for residual thyroid tissue. After injecting the tracer iodine an image of whole body scan obtained to identify any cancer cells spread outside the neck.

DOTANOC SCAN:-DOTANOC scan often known as Ga 68 DOTANOC PET/CT is a scan of choice for neuroendocrine tumors. These are Somatostatin receptors and this one scan demonstrate further guides the therapy by Lu-177 DOTATATE. It is applicable to patients with clinically suspected NET and for NET of the unknown primary site. Earlier for the patients with neuroendocrine tumors, accurate detection and tracking of the tumor were very molecular imaging and therapy center, we offer combined PET and CT scan for imaging of neuroendocrine tumors which highlights the tumor and gives a detailed view of the body.

How it works:- An injection of Ga68 is given to the patient first which is slightly radioactive pharmaceutical. It is quickly absorbed by neuroendocrine tumors, the scanner detects where the Ga68 is absorbed and shows them as bright patches on images. This test does not only scan neuroendocrine tumor, even it is much faster than other old scans.
