900

Book an Iron Profile at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, a Diagnostic Centre Accredited with NABL and NABH. We provide advanced Pathology and Radiology tests. Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy conducts a thorough investigation of your body’s iron levels through analysis of several indicators that help doctors diagnose various diseases associated with iron levels in your body, including iron deficiency and iron overload, anemia, and diseases of iron metabolism.

About Iron Profile

The Iron Profile is a series of tests conducted to assess the status of iron storage, distribution, and function in the body. This consists of several laboratory results that give an overall assessment of iron metabolism in the body, indicating the presence of both iron deficiency and excess iron. The following is the Iron Profile:

  • Serum Iron
  • Ferritin
  • Total Iron-Binding Capacity (TIBC)
  • Unsaturated Iron-Binding Capacity (UIBC)
  • Transferrin Saturation

At Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, we provide exact iron profile testing using advanced laboratory technology to support accurate clinical decision-making.

What is an Iron Profile?

An iron profile is described as the set of blood tests conducted to measure the level of iron in the blood, iron storage in the body, and the ability of iron transport within the body. It is normally requested when people exhibit symptoms of anemia, tiredness, malnutrition, and iron overload disease. Medical personnel normally use Iron Profile together with Complete Blood Count (CBC).

Common Reasons for an Iron Profile

  • Evaluation of iron deficiency anemia
  • Investigation of chronic fatigue and weakness
  • Assessment of nutritional deficiencies
  • Diagnosis of iron overload disorders
  • Monitoring iron supplementation therapy
  • Investigation of unexplained anemia
  • Assessment of chronic blood loss
  • Routine health evaluation in high-risk individuals

Conditions Evaluated

Iron Deficiency Anemia

Helps diagnose iron deficiency by evaluating iron levels, storage, and transport capacity.

Iron Overload Disorders

Assists in detecting conditions such as hemochromatosis, where excessive iron accumulates in the body.

Nutritional Deficiencies

Evaluates iron deficiency caused by inadequate dietary intake or poor intestinal absorption.

Chronic Blood Loss

Supports investigation of iron depletion due to gastrointestinal bleeding, heavy menstrual bleeding, or other causes.

Chronic Diseases

Helps differentiate anemia associated with chronic illnesses from iron deficiency anemia.

Monitoring Iron Therapy

Assesses response to iron supplementation and guides treatment adjustments.

Who Should Consider This Test?

Your doctor should recommend an Iron Profile if you:

  • Experience fatigue, weakness, or dizziness
  • Have pale skin or shortness of breath
  • Have suspected anemia
  • Are receiving iron supplements
  • Have abnormal CBC or ferritin results
  • Have suspected iron overload disorders
  • Require evaluation of nutritional status

Benefits of Iron Profile
