Urine - Microalbumin

570

Get your Urine – Microalbumin Test done at a NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre – Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy that provides state-of-the-art services in Pathology and Radiology. The microalbumin (albumin) test measures the level of microalbumin in the urine to help detect kidney damage in the early stages before the kidneys lose function, particularly for individuals with diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. Testing done by our experienced laboratory professionals ensures accuracy in testing, reliable reports, and timely results, which helps in early diagnosis and effective planning of treatment.

About Urine – Microalbumin Test

The Urine – Microalbumin Test is used to detect the presence of very small amounts of albumin – a protein that is normally in the bloodstream. If the kidney has been damaged, a small amount of albumin can appear in the urine. When this leakage is found early enough, doctors can find kidney disease before there is serious damage. In Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, cutting-edge lab methods are applied to ensure accurate and reliable kidney health diagnostics.

What is a Urine – Microalbumin Test?

A Urine – Microalbumin Test is a lab test that looks for tiny traces of albumin (an abnormal protein found in the urine). This is one of the best screening tools for early diabetic kidney disease ( diabetic nephropathy ), and it is beneficial to monitor kidney function in people with high blood pressure or any other kidney conditions. Your medical provider may recommend having the test performed on a random or early morning urine sample as well as a 24-hour urine collection.

Common Reasons for a Urine Microalbumin Test

  • Screening for diabetic kidney disease
  • Monitoring kidney function in people with diabetes
  • Evaluation of kidney damage due to hypertension
  • Assessment of chronic kidney disease
  • Routine kidney health check-up in high-risk individuals
  • Follow-up of previously abnormal urine protein results
  • Monitoring response to kidney disease treatment
