About PAP - LBC (Liquid-Based Cytology)
Laboratory analysis of cells obtained from the cervix is performed using a liquid solution called the PAP-LBC Test, which is an advanced cervical cancer screen. Liquid-Based Cytology yields a cleaner sample with a higher quality than a traditional Pap smear, resulting in greater accuracy in cervical cell evaluation. Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy uses state-of-the-art Cytology equipment to provide trustworthy and accurate results for women's preventative care.

The PAP – LBC (Liquid-Based Cytology) Test is a simple, safe, and minimally invasive cervical screening procedure performed by a qualified healthcare professional.
During the examination, you will lie comfortably on an examination table while a speculum is gently inserted into the vagina to allow clear visualization of the cervix.
A small soft brush or spatula is used to collect a sample of cells from the surface and canal of the cervix. The procedure usually takes only a few minutes.
Unlike a conventional Pap smear, the collected cells are placed into a special liquid preservative, allowing Liquid-Based Cytology (LBC) processing. This improves sample quality by reducing blood, mucus, and other contaminants, leading to more accurate evaluation.
The laboratory examines the cervical cells for precancerous changes, cervical cancer, HPV-related cellular abnormalities, infections, inflammation, and other cervical abnormalities.
Most women experience little to no discomfort, although mild pressure or slight spotting may occur after sample collection. This is generally temporary.
You can resume your normal daily activities immediately after the test unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Reports are generally available within 3–5 working days.
