Get CEMRI Both Knees at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. an NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre providing a wide range of advanced MRI and diagnostic imaging services. Both Knees Contrast-Enhanced MRI is a high-resolution MRI of the knee with contrast enhancement when indicated clinically, to reveal a detailed evaluation of the bones, joints, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and soft tissues surrounding the knee.
About CEMRI BOTH KNEE
CEMRI Both Knee is used to get a detailed analysis of both knee joints. An MRI scan used with intravenous (IV) contrast dye assists with the evaluation of inflammation, abnormal tissue enhancement, infection, tumors, synovial abnormalities, and other conditions of the knee. It may be recommended when symptoms affect both knees and is done to assess joint structures.
What is CEMRI BOTH KNEE?
In MRI, powerful magnets and radiofrequency waves are used to construct detailed images without the use of ionizing radiation. Contrast can improve characterization of enhancement and vascularity, but non-contrast MRI can already detect many inflammatory, structural, and other abnormalities. Avoid implying that these abnormalities cannot be assessed without contrast. The scan takes detailed images of the cartilage, menisci, ligaments, tendons, surrounding soft tissue, and bone marrow.
Common Reasons for CEMRI BOTH KNEE
Persistent or unexplained pain in both knees
Suspected ligament or tendon abnormalities
Evaluation of inflammatory or infective joint conditions
Assessment of joint swelling or recurrent effusion
Suspected bone or soft-tissue lesions
Evaluation of synovial abnormalities
Assessment of suspected tumors or abnormal masses
Follow-up of known knee abnormalities
Evaluation of postoperative or post-treatment changes
Further assessment when previous imaging requires additional characterization
Conditions Evaluated
Ligament and Tendon Abnormalities
The scan can provide detailed visualization of the major knee ligaments and tendons, helping assess tears, sprains, degeneration, inflammation, and other structural abnormalities.
Meniscal Injuries
MRI is useful for evaluating the medial and lateral menisci for tears, degeneration, and associated changes that may contribute to pain, locking, or restricted movement.
Joint Inflammation and Synovial Abnormalities
Contrast enhancement can help characterize inflammatory changes involving the synovial lining and surrounding tissues, particularly when inflammatory or infective conditions are suspected.
Bone Marrow and Bone Lesions
CEMRI can help evaluate abnormal signals within the bones around the knee, including bone marrow changes, inflammatory processes, lesions, and selected tumor-related abnormalities.
Soft-Tissue Lesions
The scan can assess muscles, tendons, bursae, and other soft tissues around the knee and may help characterize cysts, masses, inflammatory changes, and other abnormalities.
Infection and Inflammatory Conditions
Contrast-enhanced imaging may be recommended when infection, osteomyelitis, septic arthritis, or other inflammatory processes are suspected, helping assess the extent and distribution of abnormal changes.

The patient’s symptoms, medical history, previous investigations, treatment history, and clinical indication for contrast-enhanced MRI are reviewed before the examination.
MRI safety screening is completed to identify implants, metal objects, or medical devices that may affect the examination.
Both knees are positioned appropriately within the MRI system according to the prescribed imaging protocol.
A dedicated or suitable MRI coil is used to obtain detailed images of both knee joints.
The MRI scanner uses a strong magnetic field and radiofrequency waves to acquire multiple sequences without ionizing radiation.
Initial MRI sequences may be obtained to evaluate the bones, bone marrow, cartilage, menisci, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and other soft tissues of both knees.
An appropriate MRI contrast agent may then be administered intravenously when clinically indicated and after the required safety assessment.
Additional contrast-enhanced sequences are acquired to evaluate areas of abnormal enhancement, inflammation, infection, synovial abnormalities, lesions, masses, or other selected conditions.
Both knees are assessed according to the clinical indication, allowing relevant structures and abnormalities to be evaluated and compared.
The patient is asked to remain as still as possible during each imaging sequence to maintain image quality.
After contrast administration, the patient may be observed briefly according to the centre’s protocol for any immediate reaction.
The acquired images are reviewed by the radiologist and correlated with symptoms, clinical findings, previous imaging, treatment history, and other relevant investigations.
Appropriate MRI, contrast-administration, and patient-safety protocols are followed throughout the examination.
