The radiology team will review your clinical history, symptoms, previous reports, and relevant medical information.
MRI safety screening will be performed to confirm that the examination is appropriate.
You will be positioned comfortably on the MRI table, with the lower abdomen and pelvis placed within the appropriate imaging coil.
Initial MRI sequences will be obtained to evaluate the lower abdomen, pelvic organs, soft tissues, and surrounding structures.
An intravenous line will be placed for administration of the prescribed MRI contrast agent.
Contrast will be administered according to the examination protocol, followed by additional MRI sequences.
You will be asked to remain as still as possible during image acquisition, with breathing instructions provided when required.
The examination uses magnetic fields and radio waves and does not use ionizing radiation.
The acquired images will be reviewed by an experienced radiologist for assessment of pelvic organs, soft tissues, masses, lesions, inflammatory changes, and other relevant abnormalities.
The report is generally provided within 24 hours.
