MRI LEFT UPPER ARM

₹7000

At Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, an NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre, we provide MRI Left Upper Arm. An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the upper arm can provide detailed images of the humerus, muscles and tendons, and soft tissue around the joint, and can help to clarify persistent pain, swelling, muscle injury, any tearing of the tendon, as well as any other structural issue that may be present. It can also be used to help determine the diagnosis of soft tissue masses, inflammation, and selected lesions affecting the bone marrow. This examination is useful to establish the appropriate clinical assessment and/or treatment planning with advanced MRI technology and appropriate imaging protocols.

About MRI Left Upper Arm

An advanced type of special MR imaging test used to image the left upper arm, from the shoulder region to the elbow. It provides a detailed glimpse of your humerus and also the adjacent gentle tissues and muscle groups, which lets medical professionals conduct studies on all symptoms that you may possibly be facing attributable to harm, inflammation, as well as various other structural issues. Examination occurs within the appropriate imaging protocols to support detailed examination, diagnosis, and confident reporting in Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy.

What is MRI Left Upper Arm?

MRI Left Upper Arm uses powerful magnets and radio waves to produce detailed images of the different tissues in the left upper arm. MRI is not a type of X-ray or CT scan and does not release any sort of radiation that can harm a person's growth. It is especially helpful to assess the bone marrow changes, soft-tissue abnormalities, and muscles. A scan may be requested if a patient continues to suffer from pain, swelling, weakness, or reduced arm movement, or if a doctor wishes to obtain additional information regarding an injury or potential problem. Contrast is not standard unless duly ordered by the referring physician.

Common Reasons for MRI Left Upper Arm

  • Ongoing arm pain: Conducts a thorough evaluation of any muscles, bones, or soft tissues when pain appears to be persistent.
  • Muscle injuries: Can determine if your muscles have been strained, torn, or injured due to exercise, lifting, or trauma.
  • When there is swelling or palpable lumps: Evaluates soft-tissue abnormalities or masses that are present in the upper arm.
  • Suspected tendon injury: Assesses some of the potential abnormalities of the tendons which may cause pain and weakness.
  • Trauma injuries: Gives more details regarding soft tissue injury after a collision or blow.
  • Bone marrow abnormalities: Assists in determining selected conditions of the humerus that may not be fully elucidated on conventional radiographs.
  • Inflammation or infection: May aid in the assessment of suspected inflammatory or infectious changes (if warranted).

Conditions Evaluated

Muscle Strains and Tears

MRI is helpful to identify damage to the muscle and to localise and quantify the extent of the damage. This can be important to your doctor in making treatment and recovery plans.

Tendon and Soft-Tissue Injuries

The examination yields detailed pictures looking for soft-tissue problems or abnormalities or damage in the upper arm.

Humerus and Bone Marrow Abnormalities

MRI may assess for certain areas of abnormal bone marrow around the humerus, including areas of bone bruising, some bone marrow changes called stress changes, and others that require additional information.

  • Tell the staff if you have metal fragments in your body, especially near your eyes.
  • Inform the team if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
  • If contrast is planned, share details of any kidney disease, allergies, or previous reactions to MRI contrast agents.
  • Bring previous X-rays, MRI scans, and other relevant medical reports, if available.
  • Remove jewelry, watches, and other metallic objects before entering the MRI room.
