About MRI PENIS
MRI Penis is a specialized imaging examination that provides detailed visualization of the penile anatomy and surrounding soft tissues. It uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves and does not use ionizing radiation.
What is MRI PENIS?
MRI Penis creates detailed cross-sectional images of the penile structures, including the erectile tissues and surrounding soft tissues. It can help assess structural changes, injuries, masses, inflammation, and other abnormalities when detailed imaging is required.
Common Reasons for MRI PENIS
Evaluation of penile masses or lesions
Assessment of suspected soft-tissue abnormalities
Evaluation following penile trauma
Assessment of structural abnormalities
Evaluation of persistent swelling or pain
Assessment of suspected fibrosis or scarring
Evaluation of known penile conditions
Treatment planning and follow-up when detailed imaging is required
Conditions Evaluated
Penile Masses and Lesions
MRI can help characterize the location and extent of a penile mass or soft-tissue lesion.
Penile Trauma
MRI may help evaluate soft-tissue changes following an injury.
Fibrosis and Scarring
The examination can help assess areas of abnormal fibrous or scar tissue within the penis.
Soft-Tissue Abnormalities
MRI can provide detailed assessment of changes involving the erectile tissues and surrounding structures.
Structural Abnormalities
MRI may help evaluate selected anatomical or structural changes when other imaging methods do not provide sufficient information.
Who Should Consider This Scan?
Your doctor may recommend an MRI Penis if you have:
A suspected penile mass or lesion
Persistent penile pain or swelling
A history of penile trauma
Suspected fibrosis or scarring
A known penile abnormality requiring further assessment
Findings requiring detailed soft-tissue imaging
Benefits of MRI PENIS
