MRI RIGHT LEG WITH CONTRAST

₹10000

Get your MRI Right Leg with Contrast at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, an NABL- and NABH-accredited diagnostic centre. Specialized magnetic resonance imaging, which provides detailed information about the soft tissues such as the blood vessels, tendons, muscles and bones in the right leg. Mostly used to assess select infections, inflammation, masses, or abnormalities that need detailed imaging; contrast enhancement is given to the patient.

About MRI Right Leg with Contrast

MRI Right Leg with Contrast is an imaging examination in which intravenous contrast material is administered when clinically indicated to provide additional information about abnormalities in the right leg. It provides information regarding muscles, bones, and bone marrow and related soft tissues in detail. Routine imaging may not give enough information, or if further information on a suspected abnormality is desired, the examination may be recommended. Selected lesions/infections/inflammatory changes can be evaluated by contrast enhancement with regard to their extent and nature.

What is MRI Right Leg with Contrast?

It uses a strong magnet and radio waves to create detailed images of what is happening in the body. If a contrast agent is added during an MRI, it is usually injected into a vein and improves the visibility of various tissues and abnormalities. Can evaluate the bones, bone marrow, muscle, tendon and soft tissue of the right leg. Images obtained before and after contrast administration help the radiologist assess the enhancement characteristics, size, extent, and involvement of adjacent structures by a suspected lesion.

Common Reasons for MRI Right Leg with Contrast

  • Follow-up evaluation of the pain of the Right leg (Persistent Pain):
  • Capable of assessing significant/swelling soft tissues, lumps, or soft tissue changes of unknown cause.
  • Assessment of Suspected Infection of Bone, Muscle and/or surrounding tissues.
  • Evaluation of muscle abnormalities: Evaluation done to determine if muscle inflammation, injury, or changes are abnormal.
  • Bone and Bone Marrow Lesions: Examination of clinical signs/diseases and/or previous imaging studies.
  • Examination of Soft-Tissue Masses: Examination in an attempt to identify possible soft-tissue masses (tumours).
  • Post-Treatment Follow-Up: Estimation of whether there is an existing defect after surgery or other treatment.
  • Abnormal Previous Episodes: If there is something abnormal in the X-rays, ultrasound, CT, or regular MRI scan, further evaluation is needed.

Conditions Evaluated

Bone and Bone Marrow Abnormalities

MRI will provide excellent detail of bones and bone marrow in the right leg. It may aid in the diagnosis of marrow oedema, inflammatory changes, infection, stress-related injuries, and some lesions of bone.

Muscle Injuries and Inflammatory Conditions

It may determine whether there are any tears or muscles that are inflamed and/or irritated, or even abnormal changes in the muscles. The examination helps assess muscle swelling, oedema, tears, and other abnormalities, and to check the muscles for inflammation and tears, and if abnormal changes have taken place in the muscles. Contrast may be used if there is a specific type of inflammatory/infectious process suspected, to provide additional information.

Soft-Tissue Masses and Lesions

Methods that use contrast dye to better determine the depth, penetration, structure, and enhancement of soft tissue masses can be helpful with a contrast-enhanced MRI. It may be used in other instances to assess the relationship of the muscle with neighbouring muscles, bones, and other anatomical structures.

Bone and Soft-Tissue Infections

For suspected cases of osteomyelitis, soft-tissue infection, and fluid collections, MRI with contrast may be helpful to help delineate one from another. May help to try and explain size and spread of infection and involvement of surrounding tissues.

Tendon and Other Soft-Tissue Abnormalities

The scan can be used to check whether there is inflammation, degeneration, an injury, or other abnormalities in tendons, other soft tissues, and selected abnormalities. The results were interpreted in the context of the patient's history and symptoms.

Inflammatory Changes

Selected inflammatory conditions of the muscles, soft tissues, and surrounding structures of the right leg may be evaluated through contrast enhancement.

Post-Surgical and Treatment Changes

MRI may be recommended after surgery or treatment to assess healing, residual disease, recurrent abnormalities, or suspected complications, particularly when symptoms persist.

Why Choose Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy?

Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy is an NABL and NABH-recognized Diagnostic Centre of Excellence with top-of-the-range Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Pathology services at one single place. Book Your MRI Right Leg with Contrast

Your doctor may order an MRI Right Leg with contrast dye that can be performed using an MRI exam in Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. If you have them, bring prescriptions, reports from any MRIs, CT scans, X-rays, and other necessary medical records. Notify the imaging department of any previous contrast reaction performed, kidney disorders or medical devices placed in the body.

Test information: Fasting for 4–6 hours.

Reporting: Within 24 hours*

  • Fasting is required for 4–6 hours before the examination. Follow the diagnostic centre's instructions regarding food and fluids.
  • Inform the MRI staff if you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant.
  • Inform the radiology team if you have kidney disease or any other significant medical condition, as kidney function may need to be assessed before contrast administration.
  • Tell the staff if you have previously experienced an allergic reaction to MRI contrast material or any other injectable contrast agent.
  • Inform the MRI staff about any implanted medical devices, pacemakers, artificial joints, surgical clips, metal implants, or metallic fragments in your body.
  • Disclose any history of surgery, particularly involving the right leg, and bring relevant medical records if available.
  • Inform the staff about all medicines you are currently taking. Do not stop any prescribed medication without consulting your doctor.
  • Bring your doctor's prescription, previous MRI or CT scans, X-rays, ultrasound reports, and other relevant medical records.
  • Remove jewellery, watches, belts, coins, keys, and other metallic objects before entering the MRI room.
  • You may be asked to change into a hospital gown to avoid interference from clothing or metallic accessories.
  • An intravenous cannula may be placed in your arm for administration of the contrast material.
  • Inform the staff immediately if you experience itching, rashes, breathing difficulty, dizziness, or any unusual discomfort after contrast administration.
  • Follow the MRI technician's instructions and remain still during scanning to obtain clear images.
