In the advanced Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging service in a NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre, Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy provides Sono Mammography Right Breast examination. An examination performed using mammograms and ultrasound (if clinically indicated) to evaluate breast tissue and examine lumps, pain, swelling, or other abnormalities in the right breast.
A diagnostic breast imaging procedure to check on the structure and condition of the right breast; Sono Mammography Right Breast. Mammography is the low-dose X-ray imaging technique used to diagnose breast disease, and/or ultrasound is the imaging technique used with sound waves to determine the nature of any abnormalities. These imaging techniques can sometimes give complementary information if the patient has a lump or has a minimum of one area that needs further evaluation. This will depend on the patient's age, symptoms, any specific recommendations from the referring doctor, and the breast tissue characteristics.
Sono Mammography Right Breast refers to a clinical study where the right breast is scanned with mammography and sonography (breast ultrasound), both or as indicated by the clinical need. Mammograms can detect suspicious masses, calcifications, and changes in the breast tissue. Ultrasound may be able to help distinguish any fluid-filled cysts from solid masses, and can be useful to examine other abnormalities of the breast. The imaging findings are interpreted alongside the patient’s clinical examination and medical history to help determine whether further imaging, follow-up, or additional testing is needed.
To aid in the identification of the location, size, appearance, and shape, mammography and ultrasound can be performed. The results of these tests will be used to decide whether or not more testing is needed.
Ultrasound can help determine whether a breast lump is fluid-filled, such as a cyst, or solid. Further assessment may be needed depending on the findings.
Benign processes of the breast such as a fibroadenoma, or other normal changes of the breast, might also be tested in the exam.
In addition, mammography can also reveal masses that require additional evaluation, architectural distortion, or regions with calcifications. Ultrasound can provide additional information about the location, size, and characteristics of selected breast abnormalities.
Imaging may be ordered clinically for local swelling and inflammation and/or suspected local collections; these may represent an abscess.
In patients with symptoms and clinical signs that may be related to a specific nipple and breast area abnormality, the examination may be useful to determine that abnormality.
Sonomammography can be performed to re-evaluate a breast mass that had been diagnosed previously, and to compare the imaging characteristics of the breast mass with prior imaging in situations where follow-up is indicated.
Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy provides diagnostic services in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Pathology.
