  • Avoid taking calcium supplements for at least 24 hours before the examination unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  • Wear comfortable clothing without metal buttons, zippers, hooks, belts, or metallic accessories, as metal objects may interfere with image quality.
  • Remove all jewellery, watches, belts, coins, keys, mobile phones, wallets, and other metallic objects before the scan.
  • Inform the radiology staff if you are pregnant or may be pregnant, as the examination uses a very low dose of X-rays.
  • Inform your doctor or radiology technician if you have recently undergone a CT scan with contrast, barium study, nuclear medicine scan, or any orthopedic surgery or implant placement, as these may affect the timing or interpretation of the examination.
  • Carry previous DEXA scan reports, body composition reports, X-rays, CT scans, MRI reports, or other relevant medical records, if available, for comparison and accurate assessment.
