About X-Ray Abdomen AP View

An X-Ray Abdomen AP (Anteroposterior) View is a regular imaging test performed on the abdomen that helps to assess the organs and structures within the abdomen. X-rays are taken from the front (anterior) to the back (posterior) of the abdomen, providing good quality images of the abdomen.

The Digital Radiography systems that we use in Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy are of high-quality and advanced technology, which enables us to be able to obtain very sharp and high-definition images that will allow us to best evaluate any abdominal conditions.

What is an X-Ray Abdomen AP View?

The orthographic X-Ray abdomen is a radiographic examination that can take a short period of time and does not involve any pain and allows one to see the organs in the liver area, intestines, kidneys, urinary bladder, and abdominal bones. It has a wide range of applications, including the detection of intestinal obstructions, kidney stones, abnormal patterns of gas, calcifications, foreign bodies, and other abnormalities of the abdomen. Suggested for the first time for abdominal pain or possible diseases of the gastrointestinal or urinary system.

  • Detection of kidney or ureteric stones
  • Assessment of intestinal obstruction
  • Investigation of constipation or bowel distension
  • Detection of abnormal gas patterns
  • Identification of swallowed foreign bodies
  • Evaluation of abdominal calcifications
  • Follow-up after abdominal surgery or treatment
