The head is carefully aligned, and you may be asked to remain completely still during image acquisition.
One or more specialised X-ray views are taken to visualise the right and left optic canals (optic foramina).
You may be instructed to hold your breath briefly or avoid any movement while the images are captured.
The radiographer checks the image quality and may obtain additional views if required by the radiologist.
The procedure is quick, painless, non-invasive, and does not require contrast material.
