X-RAY BOTH OPTIC FORAMEN

The X-ray foramen is performed to see the opening of the optic canal or optic foramen. This is located at the base of the skull and carries the optic nerve and the ophthalmic artery into the orbital cavity. The indications for this test are fracture of bones surrounding the optic foramen, to look for any changes in the shape or size of the optic canal, to detect the presence of any optic neuropathies or any suspected infections or abnormal growth.

Test information: Fasting NOT needed

Reporting: Within 04 hours*

  • No preparations are needed.
  • Please carry your medical documents.
  • You may be asked to remove some clothing and change it into a gown for the exam. Remove jewellery, metallic objects, or clothing that might interfere with the x-ray images.
  • Women should inform about any chance of pregnancy as generally, an X-ray is not performed on pregnant patients.
  • Please carry identification proof such as an Aadhar card, pan card etc.
