Get an X-Ray Cervical Spine Lateral View done from Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, an NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre that provides advanced radiology and pathology services. Doctors use our leading-edge digital X-ray technology to generate high-resolution lateral images of the cervical spine, allowing them to assess the soft tissue structures of the neck, the spine's alignment, intervertebral disc space, and the vertebrae. Our skilled radiologists ensure accurate imaging, minimize radiation, and report it promptly, which aids in the swiftness and subsequent accuracy of diagnosis and treatment planning.
About X-Ray Cervical Spine Lateral View
An X-ray Cervical Spine Lateral View is a particular type of X-ray of the neck that looks like an image of the joint on the right side of the neck. This view is one of the most significant projections when determining the normal curvature of the neck, the alignment of the vertebrae, the disc spaces, and possible abnormalities of the cervical spine. We are equipped with state-of-the-art digital radiography systems, creating excellent images with every patient while at the same time utilising the highest level of patient safety and protection.
What is an X-Ray Cervical Spine Lateral View?
This X-ray of the cervical spine, or neck bones and joints, utilizes the lateral (side) view to view the spine and its vertebrae, is quick, painless, and non-invasive. It enables the doctor to check all seven cervical vertebrae, the position of the neck, and surrounding soft tissues.
This examination is often used in patients who have presentations of neck pain, stiffness, trauma, or suspected pathology of the cervical spine, and is frequently performed in addition to the AP or oblique views to get a full picture of the cervical spine.
Common Reasons for an X-Ray Cervical Spine Lateral View
Persistent neck pain or stiffness
Evaluation after neck injury or trauma
Assessment of cervical spine fractures
Investigation of cervical spondylosis
Evaluation of spinal alignment
Assessment of degenerative disc disease
Follow-up after cervical spine surgery
Investigation of restricted neck movement
Conditions Evaluated
Cervical Spine Fractures
Helps detect fractures of the cervical vertebrae following trauma or accidents.
Cervical Spondylosis
Evaluates age-related wear and tear affecting the cervical spine.
Degenerative Disc Disease
Assesses narrowing of disc spaces and degenerative changes between vertebrae.
Spinal Alignment Abnormalities
Detects abnormal curvature, vertebral displacement, or instability.
Arthritis
Identifies degenerative or inflammatory changes affecting the cervical joints.
Soft Tissue Abnormalities
Evaluates prevertebral soft tissue swelling that may indicate injury or infection.
