Book X-Ray Left Scapula AP & LATERAL VIEW at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy (NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre), which provides exceptional services for advanced Radiology and Pathology. We use advanced digital X-ray technology to produce clear and sharp images of the front (AP) and side (Lateral) of the left scapula or shoulder blade, which is useful to assist a doctor's diagnosis of a fracture, abnormal bone growth, shoulder blade dislocations, and other problems related to the shoulder area. Our highly trained radiologists deliver efficient, accurate imaging while minimizing the amount of X-rays administered to minimize radiation and delivering prompt reporting for effective diagnosis and treatment planning.
About X-Ray Left Scapula AP & Lateral Views
X-ray Left Scapula AP & Lateral Views is a specific imaging test that provides 2 views of the left shoulder blade (scapula). The Anteroposterior (right-to-left) view is looking towards the nose, and the Lateral view is looking at the side. These views are combined to give a comprehensive evaluation of the scapular body, scapular spine, acromion, coracoid process, glenoid cavity, and other bone features. With our state-of-the-art digital radiography systems, it is possible to identify and accurately assess shoulder injuries and disorders such as scapular fractures with high-resolution visualization at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy.
What is an X-Ray Left Scapula AP & Lateral Views?
X-ray Left Scapula AP & Lateral Views is a painless, non-invasive, quick test for the bones of the left shoulder blade. AP plus lateral views are useful for doctors to determine the bone's alignment, to identify fractures, to look for other bone abnormalities, and to determine degenerative or traumatic conditions on the scapula. Patients with complications such as pain, trauma, limited mobility, or possible scapular injuries may have this examination.
Common Reasons for an X-Ray Left Scapula AP & Lateral Views
Left shoulder injury following a fall or accident
Persistent pain around the shoulder blade
Suspected scapular fracture
Swelling or tenderness over the shoulder
Difficulty moving the shoulder
Evaluation of bone lesions or abnormalities
Follow-up after fracture treatment or surgery
Assessment of chronic shoulder pain
Conditions Evaluated
Scapular Fractures
Detects fractures involving the body, neck, spine, acromion, coracoid process, or glenoid cavity of the scapula.
Bone Alignment Abnormalities
Evaluates the alignment of the scapula following trauma or injury.
Osteoarthritis
Assesses degenerative changes affecting the shoulder joint and adjacent bony structures.
Bone Lesions
Helps identify bone cysts, tumors, or other abnormalities affecting the scapula.
Congenital Bone Abnormalities
Evaluates developmental abnormalities involving the shoulder blade.
Post-Traumatic and Post-Surgical Changes
Monitors healing following fractures, orthopedic surgery, or other treatments.
Who Should Consider This X-Ray?
Your doctor may recommend this examination if you:
Have persistent pain around the left shoulder blade
Have suffered trauma to the shoulder

The patient is positioned either standing or lying on the X-ray table according to the radiographer's instructions.
Anteroposterior (AP) and Lateral Views of the left scapula (shoulder blade) are obtained to evaluate the scapular body, scapular spine, acromion, coracoid process, glenoid cavity, and surrounding shoulder structures.
The two projections provide complementary views that help assess scapular fractures, bone alignment abnormalities, degenerative changes, bone lesions, congenital abnormalities, and other musculoskeletal conditions affecting the shoulder blade.
You may be asked to adjust your arm or shoulder position to obtain the best possible images of the scapula.
It is important to remain completely still while each X-ray image is taken to ensure sharp, high-quality images.
Additional X-ray views may be obtained if required for a more comprehensive assessment.
The examination is quick, painless, non-invasive, and does not require contrast material.
