About X-Ray Left Wrist AP & Lateral Views

An X-ray of the left wrist AP and lateral views is a specialised X-ray examination that takes two X-rays of the left wrist. The Anteroposterior (AP) view gives you a front view, and the Lateral view gives you a side view. These views together give a good perspective of the distal part of the radius and ulna, the carpal bones, the radiocarpal joint, the distal radioulnar joint, and the surrounding bony landmarks. Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy utilizes state-of-the-art digital imaging equipment that creates detailed reflections to diagnose injuries to the wrist and musculoskeletal conditions.

What is an X-Ray Left Wrist AP & Lateral Views?

X-Ray Left Wrist AP & Lateral Views is a fast, painless, and non-invasive imaging test performed to assess the bones and joints of the left wrist. The AP and lateral projections are useful to determine bone alignment, to look for fractures, to detect joint dislocation, and to evaluate the wrist for either degenerative or inflammatory changes. This is an examination that is often applied to individuals with pain, swelling, trauma, loss of motion, or hand use problems in the wrist.

  • Persistent wrist pain
  • Suspected wrist fracture
  • Wrist dislocation
  • Swelling or tenderness around the wrist
  • Difficulty moving the wrist
  • Evaluation of arthritis
  • Follow-up after wrist surgery or fracture treatment
