What is an X-Ray Mandible Both Lateral Oblique Views?

The X-ray mandible (lower jaw) Both Lateral Oblique View is an easy, painless, and non-invasive type of imaging study performed to assess the bones of the lower jaw on both sides. This test is frequently requested for patients with jaw pain, jaw swelling, facial trauma, impaired ability to chew, and suspected jawbone fractures.

  • Difficulty opening or closing the mouth
  • Evaluation of jaw alignment
  • Assessment of dental-related bone problems
  • Follow-up after jaw surgery or fracture treatment
