X-RAY MCU (MICTURATING CYSTO-URETHROGRAM)

A Micturating Cysto-Urethrogram (or MCU) is a study using X-rays and x-ray dye to show the bladder and urethra while passing urine. The test is performed to find out if the urine goes from the bladder back up to the kidneys instead of out through the urethra.

Test information: Fasting NOT needed.

Reporting: Within 04 hours*

  • No preparations are needed.
  • Please carry your medical documents.
  • You may be asked to remove some clothing and change it into a gown for the exam. Remove jewelry, metallic objects, or clothing that might interfere with the x-ray images.
  • You may be asked to empty your bladder before the test.
  • Women should inform about any chance of pregnancy as generally X-ray is not performed on pregnant patients.
  • Please carry identification proof such as an Aadhar card, pan card etc.
