About X-Ray Nasal Bone Lateral View
X-ray view of the lateral aspect of the nasal bones is a special type of imaging employed to evaluate the nasal bones after trauma or injury to the face. It gives a clear side (lateral) view of the nose bone to make a surgeon's job easier in identifying fractures, displacement, and any other abnormalities.
The study is often indicated following an accident, fall, sports injury, or physical assault if a nasal bone fracture is suspected. It assists in the assessment of the injury severity, and a timely treatment plan can be developed on this basis.
What is an X-Ray Nasal Bone Lateral View?
X-Ray Nasal Bone Lateral View is a simple and non-invasive imaging procedure using small doses of X-ray radiation to produce detailed images of the nasal bones on the side. The lateral projection will offer a great view of the line of alignment of the nasal bones and any intervening abnormality of the normal nasal bone position. Examination can be done on one side (unilateral) for the clinical indication or bilaterally for comparison.
Common Reasons for an X-Ray Nasal Bone Lateral View
Suspected nasal bone fracture following facial trauma
Injury due to road traffic accidents, falls, or sports activities

Evaluation before surgical management of nasal fractures
Follow-up assessment after treatment of nasal bone injuries
