  • Wear comfortable clothing and avoid accessories or clothing with metal objects around the head and face, such as hairpins, spectacles, earrings, or jewellery.
  • Remove glasses, contact lens cases, hearing aids, dentures (if advised), and all metallic objects from the head and neck region before the examination.
  • Carry previous X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, or ophthalmology reports, if available.
  • Inform the radiologist if you have a history of facial injury, orbital fracture, eye surgery, metallic foreign body exposure (especially from grinding or welding), or persistent eye pain and swelling.
  • Women should inform the radiographer if they are pregnant or think they may be pregnant.
  • Arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
