About X-Ray PNS Lateral View

An X-Ray PNS Lateral View is a specialized X-ray examination made to take a lateral (side) X-ray of the paranasal sinuses. This projection is useful for judging the size, shape, and condition of the sinus cavities and is frequently taken in conjunction with other sinus images, including Waters views and Caldwell views. Using a digital radiography system at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, we can obtain clear, high-resolution images for your reliable sinus assessment.

What is an X-Ray PNS Lateral View?

X-ray PNS lateral view is a quick and painless imaging technique for examining air-filled spaces around the nose and eyes. It is useful for the diagnosis of sinus infections, measurement of sinus fluid levels, inflammation, fractures, and any abnormalities in the sinus structure.

Common Reasons for an X-Ray PNS Lateral View

  • Persistent sinus congestion
  • Facial pain or pressure
  • Chronic or recurrent sinus infections
  • Frequent headaches related to sinus disease
  • Nasal blockage
  • Evaluation after facial trauma
  • Assessment of sinus inflammation
  • Follow-up after sinus treatment or surgery

Conditions Evaluated

Sinusitis

Detects inflammation and infection affecting the paranasal sinuses.

Fluid Levels in the Sinuses
