X-RAY RIGHT ANKLE AP & LAT VIEW

The ankle AP view visualizes the distal tibia, distal fibula, proximal talus and proximal fifth metatarsal. It is performed in the setting of ankle trauma and suspected ankle fractures in addition to the lateral and mortise views of the ankle. The other indications include assessment of fragment position and implants in postoperative follow-up, evaluation of fracture healing, valuation of tibiofibular clear space and overlap in suspected syndesmotic injury, evaluation of hindfoot deformities and show bony diseases or lesions of the distal lower leg, talus and proximal fifth metatarsal.

Test information: Fasting NOT needed

Reporting: Within 04 hours*

  • No preparations are needed.
  • Please carry your medical documents.
  • You may be asked to remove some clothing and change it into a gown for the exam. Remove jewellery, metallic objects, or clothing that might interfere with the x-ray images.
  • You may be asked to empty your bladder before the test.
  • Women should inform about any chance of pregnancy as generally, an X-ray is not performed on pregnant patients.
  • Please carry identification proof such as an Aadhar card, pan card etc.
