About X-Ray Skull AP & Lateral Views

X-ray Skull AP and Lateral View is a Radiographic examination with inclusion of Anteroposterior (AP) & Lateral Views of the skull. These two views will give a complete picture of the bones of the cranium with the skull base and overall construction of the cranium. An examination is normally performed after head trauma or when possible abnormalities in the skull are assessed. Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy is equipped with advanced, high-tech, digital radiography systems for high-precision imaging and accurate diagnosis.

What is an X-Ray Skull AP & Lateral Views?

An X-ray skull AP & lateral view is a rapid, harmless, and painless radiation technique that examines the skull in two projections: AP & lateral views. Used to help diagnose fractures, bone deformities, calcifications, bone lesions, and other structural abnormalities. In some cases, the skull radiograph is on the whole useful in specific clinical scenarios when skull bones need to be evaluated; however, a CT scan is preferred in acute head injuries.

  • Persistent localized skull pain
  • Evaluation of congenital skull abnormalities
  • Assessment of bone lesions or tumors
