PET being the most commonly used diagnostic technique for the detection of cancers at the cellular level. CT is also one of the common techniques that is used for the detection of fractures, internal bleeding and tumors using the X-rays for detection. Both the diagnostic procedure has their specific advantages and disadvantages. Doctor can prescribe a specific test based on the need of the patient. The combination of both these scans is more effective in diagnosis purpose so most of the times PET-CT is preferred tool for diagnosis purpose.
