Book a CECT Upper Abdomen at the Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy Center, an NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre, which is suitable for upper abdominal cancer patients. Superior contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) helps in getting a very detailed (highly reconstructed) image of the upper abdominal organs by injecting a special contrast dye into the patient and allows our doctors to accurately diagnose a variety of liver, gall bladder, pancreatic, kidney, abdominal infection, tumour, and vascular diseases. All our expert radiologists use superior CT imaging technology to create accurate images and provide quick reports to help in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

About CECT Upper Abdomen

CECT of the Upper Abdomen is a CT scan procedure, performed with intravenous (IV) contrast medium to get detailed cross-sectional images of the upper abdomen. It is a great machine for viewing the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, adrenals, upper gut, etc., and the surrounding soft tissues and major blood vessels of the abdomen. With advanced CT (computed tomography) scans at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, doctors can get detailed imaging that helps them to accurately diagnose the condition of a multitude of upper abdominal malignancies.

What is CECT Upper Abdomen?

An abdominal computed tomography scan (CT) is an X-ray image of the inner structures of the upper abdomen using a special dye injected into a vein (via IV). This may help a doctor detect any disease that may not necessarily show on a traditional computed tomography (CT) scan and make blood vessels, organs, and any abnormal tissues easier to see. This is frequently ordered for someone who is experiencing regular pain in the upper abdomen, or it is highly used for the person to be assessed before surgery if they have suspected tumours in their tummy, suspected infection, inflammatory conditions, suspected blood vessel disorders, or if the person is to be assessed before a procedure.

Common Reasons for CECT Upper Abdomen

  • Persistent upper abdominal pain
  • Evaluation of liver disorders
  • Suspected pancreatic disease
  • Assessment of gallbladder abnormalities
  • Detection of abdominal tumours or masses
  • Investigation of abdominal infections or abscesses
  • Evaluation of abdominal blood vessels
  • Pre-operative assessment
  • Follow-up after treatment or surgery
