Visit a Diagnostic Centre that has been associated with NABL and NABH and is accredited to have Advanced Radiology & Diagnostic imaging facilities. Get your CT 3D Reconstruction done at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. The 3D reconstruction of bones on a computer, done from CT scan data, helps doctors see the complex anatomy, fractures, deformities, and other abnormalities of the bones in three dimensions. It facilitates detailed evaluation and a plan of treatment in cases when clinically appropriate.
Advanced imaging technique that is used to create three-dimensional images from the data generated from a CT scan is known as CT 3D Reconstruction. These images can give the doctor a spatial picture of what the body is like, and they can help the physician to understand the shape, alignment, and extent of some abnormalities. It is of great value for the assessment of complicated fractures, displaced bone fragments, complex fractures involving joint surfaces, and selected changes after surgery, congenital deformities. The reconstructed images, along with the original CT images, can help in undertaking pre-operation planning. Usually, CT 3D Reconstruction is carried out based on the information from an original or new CT scan. Depending upon the doctor's clinical needs, the scan area and reconstruction protocol are defined.
The CT 3D Reconstruction is a technique of post processing that converts the data of CT images into 3D images of anatomical structures using computer software. A 3D reconstruction enables structures to be viewed from various angles, unlike a more conventional type of cross-sectional image. This can enhance the visualization of complex bony anatomy and the relationship of fractures, bone fragments, and adjoining structures. Depending on the CT data and indication, the technique can be used on various parts of the body (skull, facial bones, spine, pelvis, and extremities).
There are a variety of instances in which CT 3D Reconstruction can aid in understanding fracture lines, displacement of fragments, and the total structure of a complex fracture. These 3D reconstructed images may help doctors to understand the severity of your injury, which can help in your recovery.
To visualize fractures in the facial skeleton and specific areas of the skull, 3D images can be used to describe the fracture in great detail. They can show fracture displacement and the relationship between bone fragments.
3D reconstruction can help create a mental picture of vertebral fracture, bony deformity, and abnormalities in spinal alignment selected for presentation. In complex bony anatomy, the images can be reconstructed to complement the conventional CT images.
It can be used to show complex fractures which include the pelvis and hip area. It may be helpful for the evaluation of bone displacement and knowledge of the relationship between fracture fragments.
The CT 3D Reconstruction will give detailed visualization of fractures of arms, hands, legs, and feet with their related joints. It might help in assessing complicated injuries and with treatment planning.
Technique may be used to show certain congenital deformities and other irregularities of bone contours and alignment. These images may help specialists to determine the anatomy prior to treatment.
In some cases, when appropriate CT data is available, the 3D reconstruction could be utilized to assess the alignment of the bones and specific anatomical modifications after surgery. To interpret the clinical images, the origin of the lesion and medical history should be taken into consideration.
Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy is an NABL & NABH certified Diagnostics Centre with the combined facility of advanced structure Radiology, Nuclear medicine & Pathology services in one state-of-the-art health centre. The cornerstones of our imaging services are suitable procedures, state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures, the safety of our patients, and reporting our results accurately. The imaging team can advise patients about the type of CT examination, and whether or not current data collected by imaging is appropriate for the reconstruction requested.
If your doctor has advised you to have CT 3D Reconstruction, then please contact Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy to confirm which body area, if any, is recommended, whether suitable CT images are available, and the appointment date. Please bring your medications, previous CT tests and/or reports, and medical records (if available). If the image data provided has not been large enough to provide the desired reconstruction, a new CT scan might have to be performed.
