NCCT LEFT HAND

3000

A non-contrast computed tomography (CT) scan of the left hand is used to get detailed cross-sectional images of the left hand bones and joints. NCCT Left Hand is used to determine fractures, dislocations, bone abnormalities, joint involvement, and other structural conditions, and to provide high-resolution visualization of the complex bone structures of the hand. NCCT Left Hand is performed at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy with state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) scanning equipment and optimized scanning protocols. The detailed images help physicians diagnose an injury to the hand and other musculoskeletal injuries.

About NCCT Left Hand

Non-Contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) is a form of computed tomography. This examination is made without intravenous contrast, and the X-rays with computerised image reconstruction provide detailed cross-sectional images. There are many bones and joints in the hand, and standard radiographs fail to give a full image of the hand. In cases of a complex injury, a subtle fracture, or structural abnormality where more detail is needed, CT is used to provide additional detail.

Common Reasons for NCCT Left Hand

  • Evaluation of suspected hand fractures
  • Assessment of complex or subtle fractures
  • Evaluation of dislocations and bone alignment
  • Assessment of traumatic hand injuries
  • Evaluation of persistent or unexplained hand pain
  • Assessment of joint abnormalities
  • Evaluation of bone lesions or structural changes
  • Preoperative planning for selected hand conditions
  • Follow-up of known fractures or other bone abnormalities

Conditions Evaluated

Hand Fractures

CT can provide detailed information about the location, extent, displacement, and alignment of fractures involving the bones of the hand.

Complex Traumatic Injuries

The examination can help assess complicated bony injuries following significant trauma.

Joint Abnormalities

NCCT can demonstrate bony alignment and joint-surface involvement in selected hand conditions.

Bone Lesions

Certain bone lesions or structural abnormalities can be evaluated in greater anatomical detail with CT.

Dislocations

The scan can help assess the position and alignment of bones and joints following suspected or known dislocation.

Who Should Consider This Scan?

Your doctor may recommend NCCT Left Hand if you:

  • Have experienced trauma or an injury to the hand
  • Have persistent hand pain or swelling
  • Have a suspected fracture requiring detailed evaluation
  • Have a complex or displaced fracture
  • Require assessment of joint or bone alignment
  • Have a known bone abnormality requiring follow-up
  • Need detailed imaging before selected surgical procedures

Benefits of NCCT Left Hand

  • Provides detailed cross-sectional images of the hand
  • Offers high-resolution assessment of complex bony anatomy
  • Helps identify subtle and complex fractures
  • Demonstrates fracture displacement and joint involvement
  • Supports treatment and surgical planning
  • Does not require intravenous contrast for routine examination

Important Preparation and Safety Instructions

  • Routine NCCT generally does not require fasting unless specifically instructed.
  • Remove rings, bracelets, watches, or other metal objects when requested.
  • Inform the radiology team about previous injuries or surgeries involving the hand.
  • Bring previous X-rays, CT scans, MRI reports, or other relevant investigations.
  • Inform the medical team if you are pregnant or may be pregnant.
  • Keep the hand still during scanning to obtain clear images.
  • Follow all positioning instructions provided by the radiology staff.

Why Choose Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy?

  • Experienced Radiology Professionals
  • Advanced CT imaging technology
  • High-quality cross-sectional imaging
  • Appropriate musculoskeletal imaging protocols
  • Accurate and reliable reporting
  • NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre
  • Patient-focused diagnostic services
  • Comprehensive Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, and Pathology services under one roof

Book Your NCCT Left Hand

If a doctor has advised detailed imaging of the left hand after an injury, persistent pain, or suspected bone abnormality, NCCT Left Hand provides valuable information about the bones and joints. Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy offers advanced CT imaging with appropriate professional supervision.

Test information: Fasting NOT required.

Reporting: Within 24 hours*

  • Routine NCCT Left Hand generally does not require fasting or special preparation unless specifically advised by the doctor or radiology team.
  • Inform the radiology team about your symptoms, recent hand injury, previous fracture, dislocation, or hand-related surgery.
  • Bring previous X-rays, CT scans, MRI reports, or other relevant hand investigations if available.
  • Remove rings, bracelets, watches, or other metal objects from the hand and wrist when requested.
  • Inform the medical team if you have any implanted medical device or metallic material in the area being examined.
  • Inform the radiology team if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or there is a possibility of pregnancy.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows the left hand to be positioned easily for the examination.
  • Follow all positioning instructions provided by the radiology staff.
  • Keep the left hand as still as possible during image acquisition to avoid movement-related image blurring.
  • Inform the radiology team if pain or swelling makes it difficult to maintain the required position.
