Schedule your NCCT LEFT KNEE JOINT scan at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, an NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre for comprehensive assessment of the left knee joint and its surrounding bones with an NCCT examination. A specialized ordered knee-joint non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) creates detailed cross-sectional images of the knee joint and its anatomy throughout the lower femur, upper tibia, and patella, joint surfaces, and more. It may be useful in assessing chronic pain in the knee, suspected fracture, trauma, or abnormality of knee alignment, degenerative knee problems, and other abnormalities affecting the left knee.
About NCCT Left Knee Joint
The detailed CT exam of the knee joints is ordered to determine the condition of the bones and joint components of the left knee (NCCT Left Knee Joint). Provides detailed views of the distal femur, proximal tibia, patella, and joint surfaces that make up the knee joint. Examination is usually very useful following trauma or if there is a suspicion of a fracture, joint deformity, or stress or insufficiency fracture. It can then help doctors identify the size and location of bone injuries and help to formulate treatment plans.
What is NCCT Left Knee Joint?
NCCT Left Knee Joint (without intravenous contrast) uses computed tomography (CT) to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the left knee. This scan assists in assessing fractures, alignment/baldancing of the bones, joint congruity, degenerative changes, and so on in the structures. It can be useful when further information is required after the initial knee X-ray and shows the knee in detail.
Common Reasons for NCCT Left Knee Joint
Knee Swelling: To investigate swelling following trauma when an underlying fracture or joint abnormality is suspected.
Difficulty in Knee Movement: To evaluate structural abnormalities that may contribute to restricted bending or straightening of the knee.
Joint Alignment Assessment: To examine the position and alignment of the bones forming the knee joint.
Degenerative Knee Changes: To assess bony changes associated with osteoarthritis and other degenerative joint conditions.
Complex Bony Injuries: To provide detailed images of fractures involving joint surfaces or multiple bone fragments.
Follow-Up After Injury or Surgery: To assess bone healing, joint alignment, or post-treatment changes when clinically indicated.
Conditions Evaluated
Knee Fractures
The fractures of the bones around the knee joint, such as the distal femur, tibial plateau, and patella, can be fully visualised with NCCT.
Bone Lesions
A scan might be helpful for detecting some localised lesions of the bone, abnormal bone growth, and other structural abnormalities that need to be investigated.
Complex Intra-Articular Fractures
The fractures can be seen by CT imaging of the joint surface, and the degree and pattern of bone injuries can be evaluated.
Post-Traumatic Changes
The exam is available to help detect bone changes after injuries, falls, sports, or other traumatic injury to the LEFT knee.
Post-Surgical Changes
When the treating clinician requests, the scan might be utilized to take into account bone positioning, healing following a knee procedure, and also structural adjustments.

Book Your NCCT Left Knee Joint
In case of persistent pain in the left knee, recent injury, suspected fracture, swelling, loss of motion in the knee joint, or other medical conditions that necessitate detailed examination of the bones within the knee, NCCT Left Knee Joint will obtain useful diagnostic data. Contact Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy to check out for the NCCT Left Knee Joint exam, schedule the exam, and understand related preparations.
Test information: Usually, no fasting is required.
Reporting: Within 24 hours*
Fasting is usually not required for an NCCT Left Knee Joint scan.
Inform the radiology team about any previous left knee surgery, fracture, injury, or treatment.
Inform the team if you have metal implants, plates, screws, or other surgical hardware around the left knee.
Inform the staff if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, as CT uses X-rays.
Share details of your current medicines and any relevant medical conditions.
Bring previous knee X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and related medical reports, if available.
Remove jewelry or other metallic objects near the knee before the examination, if requested.
Wear comfortable clothing and follow the staff’s instructions for positioning.
Inform the team if you have severe pain or difficulty bending or straightening your left knee.
Remain still during the scan to help obtain clear images.
The radiology team will review the clinical history and position you appropriately for the scan.
You will lie on the CT table, with the left knee positioned for imaging.
The CT scanner will acquire detailed cross-sectional images of the distal femur, proximal tibia, patella, and knee joint surfaces.
The images may help assess fractures, bone fragments, joint alignment, joint-surface injuries, degenerative changes, and other bony abnormalities.
Additional image reconstructions may be performed when required for better assessment.
No intravenous contrast agent is used for a standard NCCT examination.
You must remain still while the images are being acquired.
After the scan, a radiologist will interpret the images and prepare the report.
