Visit Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, one of the NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centres, and avail of advanced radiology and diagnostic imaging services for NCCT Right Elbow Scan Centre. A specialized imaging study without contrast material using a CT machine of the right elbow is known as NCCT. It aids in assessing fractures, bone injury, joint alignment, bony degenerative change, etc. This scan can help diagnose and plan treatment after trauma, if there has been elbow pain that is hard to settle, if the elbow is not moving normally, or if there are bone problems.
About NCCT Right Elbow
Right Elbow is a CT scan that analyzes the bone structures of the right elbow, lower humerus, upper radius and ulna, and right elbow joint. Shows detailed images that can sometimes show minute fractures and complex bone injuries that can be hard to see from regular X-rays. For Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy reporting, the use of advanced CT imaging technology and proper imaging protocols is used to ensure clear visualization and accurate diagnostic reporting.
What is NCCT Right Elbow?
The Non-Contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) of the right Elbow Joint refers to a specialized type of imaging that does not require the use of any dye. The scan uses X-rays and computer processing to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the elbow bones and joint structures. Contrast is not administered routinely, so it can be very useful for appendix and bone-related issues and injuries. Usually, the test is brief and not invasive. The patient is in the correct position for the scanner to take pictures of the right elbow. The images that are produced are sent to a radiology expert who looks for abnormalities and helps the doctor treating the patient determine the next steps in treatment.
Common Reasons for NCCT Right Elbow
Suspected elbow fracture: Helps identify fractures following falls, accidents, or direct injury.
Complex bone injuries: Provides detailed assessment of fractures involving the joint surface or multiple bone fragments.
Persistent elbow pain: Evaluates possible bony causes of ongoing pain when further imaging is required.
Joint alignment assessment: Helps examine the position of the bones following injury or suspected dislocation.
Bone fragments within the joint: May detect small displaced bone fragments that can affect joint movement.
Degenerative joint changes: Assesses bony spurs and other structural changes associated with arthritis.
Follow-up after injury or surgery: May be used to evaluate bone healing, fixation, or persistent bony abnormalities when clinically indicated.
Conditions Evaluated
Right Elbow Fractures
Scan may aid the identification of fractures of the distal humerus, radial head, olecranon, and other areas of the elbow joint. A detailed image can help evaluate fracture location, amount of displacement, and how complicated the fracture is.
Joint Dislocation and Alignment Abnormalities
In patients with suspected or previously diagnosed elbow dislocation, NCCT can give detailed information about the alignment of the elbow bones and can be helpful in the identification of associated fractures.
Bone Fragments and Joint Surface Injuries
Small bone fragments may also be identified, and injuries to the joint surface may be appreciated with CT images, thus aiding in treatment planning and determining the function of the joint.
Bone Lesions and Structural Abnormalities
The NCCT may aid in characterising some of these bone abnormalities, irregularities, or lesions if indicated on the right elbow.

Book Your NCCT Right Elbow
If you have been asked to get an NCCT Right Elbow scan to check for a possible fracture, an injury to the right elbow, persistent pain, or other bone problem, contact Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy to check if there are any appointments, what you need to do to prepare, and how long it will take to get the results.
Test information: Usually, no fasting is required.
Reporting: Within 24 hours*
Usually, no fasting is required for an NCCT Right Elbow scan.
Inform the radiology team about any previous right elbow surgery, fracture, dislocation, injury, or treatment.
Inform the radiology team if you have metallic implants, plates, screws, fixation devices, or other medical hardware in or around the right elbow.
Inform the radiology team if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or are planning a pregnancy, as CT uses ionising radiation.
Share details of your current medicines and any relevant medical conditions.
Bring previous CT scans, X-rays, MRI scans, or other relevant elbow reports, if available.
Remove watches, bracelets, jewellery, and other unnecessary metal objects from the right arm before the examination, as advised.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the right elbow.
Inform the radiology team if severe pain, swelling, or restricted movement makes it difficult to position your right arm.
Keep your right elbow and arm still during image acquisition to help obtain clear images.
Follow any additional instructions provided by the radiology team according to your clinical condition.

The radiology team reviews the patient's clinical history, symptoms, previous investigations, and reason for the NCCT Right Elbow examination.
The patient is positioned appropriately on the CT table, with the right elbow placed according to the imaging protocol.
Thin-section non-contrast CT images of the right elbow are acquired using X-rays.
The scan evaluates the distal humerus, proximal radius, proximal ulna, elbow joint surfaces, and surrounding bony structures.
The images are assessed for fractures, bone fragments, joint dislocation, alignment abnormalities, complex intra-articular injuries, degenerative bony changes, bone lesions, and other structural abnormalities.
The joint surfaces and alignment of the elbow bones are evaluated when clinically indicated.
Multiplanar or three-dimensional reconstructions may be prepared when required for detailed assessment of complex fractures or treatment planning.
No intravenous contrast agent is used for a standard NCCT Right Elbow examination.
The patient should remain still during image acquisition to reduce motion-related image blurring.
Appropriate radiation-safety measures and a suitable CT protocol are followed to minimise unnecessary radiation exposure.
The acquired images are reviewed and interpreted by a qualified radiologist.
