Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy offers NCCT of the right knee joint, with modern CT imaging and radiology services for detailed assessment of the knee and surrounding bones. NCCT Right Knee Joint is a non-contrast computed tomography [CT] scan of the right knee joint with adjacent bone structures that obtains detailed images of the distal end of the femur, proximal end of the tibia, patellar joint, and the tibia/femur joint space. This test is employed to help diagnose and assess any conditions or complaints presenting on the right knee, including pain, injury, trauma, degenerative changes, deformity, misalignment of the joint, bone abnormalities, and more.
What is NCCT Right Knee Joint?
NCCT Right Knee Joint is a computed tomography examination used for detailed study of the bones in and around the right knee joint. Cross-sections of a CT scan help provide detailed information about the complex structure of the bones and their relationships. This test can be used to assess the bones of the knee joint, including fractures, injuries, and other abnormalities.
Common Reasons for NCCT Right Knee Joint
Right Knee Pain
NCCT may be recommended for persistent or unexplained right knee pain when detailed evaluation of the bones and joint is required.
Suspected Knee Fracture
CT can help detect fractures involving the femur, tibia, patella, or other bones around the right knee.
Trauma or Injury
The examination may be advised following a fall, accident, sports injury, or other trauma affecting the right knee.
Knee Swelling
NCCT may help assess bony abnormalities associated with persistent swelling or pain following an injury.
Difficulty in Knee Movement
The examination can help evaluate structural bony abnormalities that may contribute to restricted or painful knee movement.
Joint Alignment Assessment
CT can provide detailed information about the alignment of the bones forming the right knee joint.
Degenerative Knee Changes
CT can provide insights into the bone remodeling, sclerosis, osteophytes, and joint space changes that are characteristic of degenerative knee disease.
Conditions Evaluated
Knee Fractures
NCCT gives a detailed image of knee fractures of the distal femur, proximal tibia, patella, and surrounding bones.
Joint Alignment and Dislocation
The exam can help determine where and how aligned the right knee joint is and whether or not it is dislocated or has other structural deformities.
Bone Lesions
The nature (location, extent, structural characteristics) of abnormal areas in the bone surrounding the knee can be identified.
Complex Bony Injuries
CT is especially helpful for assessing complex fracture patterns and how they involve the knee joint.
Post-Traumatic Changes
The exam can help evaluate the alignment, healing, and any abnormal remaining structures from prior knee injuries.
Post-Surgical Changes
After some knee surgeries or procedures, NCCT might be used for assessing bony structures and alignment.

Book Your NCCT Right Knee Joint
Book your NCCT Right Knee Joint test at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, where patients can contact our centre to verify the details of the NCCT and the available time. The test is done as per the clinical indication and symptoms being tested.
Test information: Usually, no fasting is required.
Reporting: Within 24 hours*
Usually, no fasting is required before an NCCT Right Knee Joint.
Inform the radiology team about any previous surgery, fracture, dislocation, injury, or other treatment involving the right knee or lower limb.
Inform the centre if you have metallic implants, plates, screws, fixation devices, or other medical hardware around the knee.
Tell the radiology team if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as CT uses ionising radiation.
Inform the radiology team about your current medicines and relevant medical conditions.
Bring previous CT scans, X-rays, MRI scans, ultrasound reports, or other relevant medical records if available.
Remove watches, bracelets, jewellery, belts, or other unnecessary metallic objects before the examination.
Wear comfortable clothing and follow the positioning instructions provided by the radiology team.
Inform the staff if you have severe knee pain or difficulty maintaining the required position.
Keep the right knee and leg as still as possible during scanning to reduce motion-related image degradation.
Follow any additional instructions provided by the radiology team based on your clinical condition.
The radiology team reviews the clinical history, symptoms, previous investigations, and indication for the NCCT Right Knee Joint.
The patient is positioned appropriately on the CT table with the right knee aligned according to the examination protocol.
A non-contrast CT scan is performed using thin-section imaging of the right knee.
Images are obtained to evaluate the distal femur, proximal tibia, patella, joint space, and surrounding bony structures.
The examination can demonstrate fractures, fracture fragments, bone deformities, joint alignment abnormalities, dislocation, degenerative bony changes, bone lesions, and other structural abnormalities.
Multiplanar and, when required, three-dimensional image reconstructions may be generated for detailed assessment of complex bony anatomy and fracture patterns.
No intravenous contrast material is used for a standard NCCT examination.
The patient should remain still during image acquisition to reduce motion-related image degradation.
CT uses ionising radiation, and the examination is performed using an appropriate imaging protocol with radiation-safety measures.
The acquired images are reviewed and interpreted by a qualified radiologist in correlation with the clinical information and available previous investigations.
