A NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre, praised for its Advanced Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging Services, Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, offers you the Colour Doppler Both Breasts Ultrasound services. This non-invasive ultrasound examination allows the use of colour Doppler and therefore information about blood flow can be gained within breast tissues and selected breast lesions. It could aid medical professionals to assess breast lumps, swelling, inflammatory changes, and other abnormalities in addition to standard breast ultrasound results.
About Colour Doppler Both Breasts
Colour Doppler ultrasound of both breasts is the association of breast ultrasonography with Doppler imaging used to evaluate blood flow in the breast (blood velocity) and to detect abnormal flow. It may help provide additional information about a lump or lesion's vascularity, helping the doctor to correlate images with symptoms and all investigations.
What Is Colour Doppler for Both Breasts?
A diagnostic imaging procedure that assesses blood flow and enlargements of breast tissue. Moreover, ultrasound is not based on ionizing radiation as X-rays are. Doppler imaging is used to show blood flow in vessels and can be helpful in recognising some abnormalities of the breast. It is typically performed in conjunction with routine breast ultrasound and will not be able to determine the nature (benign or malignant) of the lesion.
Common Reasons for Colour Doppler in Both Breasts
Evaluation of a palpable breast lump or mass.
Assessment of breast pain, swelling, or tenderness.
Further evaluation of a lesion identified on breast ultrasound.
Assessment of blood flow within selected breast abnormalities.
Investigation of suspected inflammatory changes, including mastitis or an abscess.
Evaluation of changes in breast tissue or a previously identified abnormality.
Follow-up of selected breast lesions when clinically indicated.
Conditions and Abnormalities Evaluated
Breast Lumps and Masses
When a conventional ultrasound is supplemented with Colour Doppler, this can be used to help evaluate blood flow through a breast lump. The results could be useful for further evaluation but are not sufficient to diagnose malignancy.
Breast Cysts and Solid Lesions
Ultrasound can be helpful to differentiate fluid-filled cysts from solid tumors. If applicable, Doppler imaging can give further data regarding the vascularity.
Mastitis and Breast Abscess
The exam can be useful to assess inflammatory changes and aid with the assessment of a suspected breast abscess.
Vascular Abnormalities
Sometimes Doppler imaging can be helpful with some types of vascular abnormalities in the breast.
Other Breast Tissue Changes
The exam can be used to help determine the cause of some structural abnormalities noted during clinical exam or imaging tests.

The patient is positioned comfortably, with both breasts accessible for examination.
A water-based gel is applied to the breast area to help transmit ultrasound waves.
The sonographer gently moves an ultrasound probe over both breasts to examine the breast tissue and any identified abnormalities.
Colour and spectral Doppler techniques are used, when appropriate, to assess blood flow within selected breast lesions or blood vessels.
The examination may help evaluate lumps, cysts, solid lesions, or inflammatory changes. Doppler findings alone cannot determine whether a lesion is benign or malignant.
The examination is generally painless and does not use ionizing radiation. Inform the medical team if you experience discomfort.
The radiologist reviews the images alongside the clinical history and previous reports, if available.
