Get your Colour Doppler Eye Ultrasound at Advanced Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, an NABL & NABH-accredited diagnostic centre. Colour Doppler Eye is an ultra-specialised ultrasound scan that can be used to test the blood flow in certain blood vessels that feed the eye and eye sockets. It may aid in the assessment of certain vascular abnormalities; it may be useful in evaluating certain ophthalmic conditions when clinically warranted.
Colour Doppler eye is an investigation of blood flow using ultrasound waves, carried out on a few special blood vessels near the eyes. It is comprised of normal ultrasound and Doppler, which allows information regarding direction and characteristics of blood flow to be obtained. A vascular evaluation of the eye and/or orbit may be indicated and may be referred for the patient by their ophthalmologist or by their treating physician.
Colour Doppler Eye is an imaging method that does not use invasive procedures and provides an indication of blood flow in the blood vessels of the eye that can be evaluated in the orbit. It may help with evaluation of circulatory anomalies and with other eye examinations. The examination is done based on the clinical indications and the type of vessels to be examined.
Colour Doppler is helpful for assessing blood flow in some of the blood vessels to the orbit, and when an abnormality is suspected in a blood vessel.
The test might provide information for blood flow in vessels that supply the eye in specific cases.
In some cases, Doppler assessment of blood flow in the eyes may be useful to evaluate changes in circulation that are thought to be associated with studies of the blood flow in the carotid arteries. Not a replacement for the specific use of carotid Doppler imaging as recommended.
Colour Doppler can provide information about vascularity as part of a clinical assessment and, in certain eye socket abnormalities, may also help in the characterisation of the vascularity.
Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy diagnostic imaging services are provided with the patient's care in mind, implementing the right imaging protocol, and providing reliable reporting of the results. The aim of our examination is to make it as easy as possible for you and provide you with information that you can correlate with what you have experienced with your symptoms, clinical exam, and pertinent medical history.
If you've been prescribed a Colour Doppler Eye scan by a physician, then schedule your appointment with Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. Include previous eye scan results, documentation of imaging, and medical information (if available).
