Get your Colour Doppler Scrotal Ultrasound at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, a diagnostic Centre with superior infrastructure, NABL & NABH-accredited radiology and diagnostic imaging Centre. Colour Doppler is a non-invasive ultrasound technique that is used to look at blood flow through vessels and to evaluate the blood vessels' abnormalities. Scrotal Doppler examination includes assessment of the blood flow to the scrotum and testicles, to gain further insight into other conditions that may affect blood flow to the scrotum and testicles.
Scrotal Colour Doppler Ultrasound is used to find out the blood flow to the testicles, to the epididymis, and scrotal tissue, as well as to check the testicles; this imaging test is performed on the scrotal tissue. It is a fusion of conventional ultrasound with Doppler technology, which allows the visualization of the structures and the direction and pattern of the blood flow. The test may be ordered if the symptoms are scrotal pain, scrotal swelling, a scrotal lump, and/or if there is a suspicion of a problem in the blood vessels of the testicles. May help to diagnose varicocele, inflammation and even but sometimes, a suspected testicular torsion.
Colour Doppler is a high-frequency sound that evaluates blood flow and allows the doctor to know how blood flows through the vessels. Colour coding is used to show blood flow direction and patterns, and if combined with spectral Doppler, it can be used to get some other measurement of flow velocity. In scrotal Doppler investigation, testicles and nearby structures can be sought, contingent upon the clinical sign indications. The exam helps evaluate the blood supply to the testicles and helps identify abnormalities in the scrotum. No ionizing radiation is involved, and it is usually not painful.
Colour Doppler is useful in evaluating blood flow to the testicle if testicular torsion is suspected. Others, such as diminished/missing blood flow, may suggest concern, but should be used in conjunction with symptoms and evaluation.
It is possible that it will show enlarged veins at the base of the testicle, and an evaluation of the pattern of blood flow may be carried out. The additional assessment can be done at the time of straining as indicated.
Inflammation of the epididymis or testicle can also increase blood flow, which can be detected through Doppler ultrasound. Results are screened and interpreted together with symptomatology and other clinical data.
This test can help find out if there is fluid around the testicle and to see if the scrotal area changes otherwise.
Assessment/investigation of the blood flow of a testicular lump is indicated by Doppler flow, and a scrotal ultrasound may be used to assess a scrotal lump. Additional investigation shall be conducted if necessary, based on this investigation.
Blood flow and chosen structural disorders following scrotal trauma may be determined by the exam.
A clinical indication can indicate other abnormalities of the testicle and surrounding scrotal tissue should be assessed.
This is an NABL and NABH accredited diagnostics centre Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy Services diagnostic centre, which includes a Radiology, a Nuclear Medicine and a Pathology. Ordering the right protocol, capturing high-quality images, providing patient comfort, and reporting images accurately is our diagnostic imaging program's focus. The imaging team also has the responsibility to finish the study as outlined, and to help assess the study accurately and clinically relevant.
Contact Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy if your doctor has recommended that you have a Scrotal Colour Doppler Ultrasound done. Bring your prescription, previous USS and Doppler reports, and available medical records (if available) to determine the patient's examination procedure.
