If you are looking to get your Colour Doppler Venous Scan at a leading and advanced NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre for one-limb levels, then consider Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. This is a non-invasive ultrasound test of the venous (vessel) blood flow in one arm or one leg, which can be used in the diagnosis of blood clots, venous obstruction, and abnormal venous blood flow.
One upper limb (arm) or one lower limb (leg), depending on the examination prescribed. It is a simple ultrasound and Doppler with the ability to look at venous structures, direction, and dynamics. The exam is often indicated when someone has swelling, pain, or tenderness in their arm or leg, or other symptoms that could indicate an issue with blood flow.
Colour Doppler Venous Ultrasound is done with high-frequency sound waves to make an image of the veins and to check how the blood flows. The ultrasound procedure involves applying ultrasound gel to the skin and moving the ultrasound probe over the area being examined. Colour Doppler can show blood flow in colour, while spectral Doppler can provide other information in terms of blood flow patterns. The actual location of the scan will be determined by the location of your pain and your doctor's recommendations. It can either be a scan of your upper limb or a scan of your lower limb.
A common imaging study used in the diagnosis of suspected DVT is colour Doppler ultrasound. It may be capable of making assessments of compressibility and blood flow; It may help diagnose DVT in the deep veins included in the examination. Superficial vein thrombosis can also be assessed when indicated. The diagnostic accuracy is dependent on the particular vein(s) involved in the examination of the affected limb and clinical circumstances.
In cases where it is possible, a Doppler ultrasound can be carried out in order to reveal blood flow reduction or no blood flow at all in an available vein. In certain areas which may not be well-visualized by ultrasound, further imaging may be needed if there is a suspected obstruction.
In patients who have had a DVT, ultrasound may be helpful to learn if there are any remaining venous abnormalities, or any venous changes that occurred as a result of the DVT. These are analyzed along with the patient's clinical history and prior imaging examination.
The scan may help in the diagnosis of venous abnormalities which contribute to swelling in the limbs. For swelling due to other causes, a further evaluation or imaging might be needed.
The techniques Colour and spectral Doppler enable the direction and pattern of blood flow in the veins under study to be determined and can help in evaluating certain blood flow disorders.
Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy is an NABL & NABH accredited Diagnostic Centre that offers Services in the field of Radiology, Nuclear Medicine & a Pathology Laboratory. Our diagnostic imaging assets include appropriate examinations, high-quality image acquisition, patient comfort, and reliable image reporting. The imaging teams meet the requirements of the study to be clinically useful.
Your doctor has suggested a Colour Doppler Venous Scan for one of your limbs; make sure that you have a test done at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. Bring all of your medications, your old Doppler history, and records (if applicable). They may be helpful to the radiologist in comparing the current findings with previous data and to help oversee the changes in venous circulation over time.
