CT GUIDED BIOPSY CONSUMABLES

₹4000

The CT Guided Biopsy Consumables help ensure safe and appropriate sampling of tissue in situ to enable laboratory examination during image-assisted biopsy procedures at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. Diagnostic centre that follows the latest in advanced technology and medicine with their investigation and diagnosis regarding Radiology and diagnostic imaging where the procedure-specific consumables are selected depending on clinical needs, is our diagnostic centre, which is NABL & NABH Accredited.

About CT Guided Biopsy Consumables

CT-guided biopsy consumables refer to any surgical consumables and/or accessories that are specifically required for the procedure of conducting a CT-guided biopsy. These are for helping the radiologist to approach, acquire, and maintain sterility throughout the process. Needle consumables requirements may vary from one procedure to the next, based on lesion type and characteristics, the needle type used, and the location of the lesion being biopsied.

What Are CT-Guided Biopsy Consumables?

This technique uses computed tomography (CT) imaging to help guide the biopsy needle to the area of the body where the samples will be retrieved for analysis. Consumables might include biopsy needles, sterile drapes, gloves, equipment for local anaesthetic, containers for specimens, dressings, and other items depending on the procedure. Depending on the biopsy site, the type of biopsy needle and the clinical needs, different types of supplies are available.

Common Reasons for CT-Guided Biopsy

CT-guided biopsy consumables may be required when a doctor recommends tissue sampling for:

  • Finding suspected tumours: When the growth is suspected to be either a benign or malignant tumour.
  • Anatomical deep-seated lesions, which require biopsy: To provide additional biopsy access to some anatomical locations where access by other means is difficult.
  • Infection or inflammation: To collect a sample suitable for use in pathological/microbiological exams as required.
  • Abnormalities that were identified earlier: To get a sample of tissue for diagnosis or to continue evaluation.

Conditions Evaluated

Benign and Malignant Lesions

CT-guided biopsy may be used to obtain tissue from selected renal lesions. Histopathological examination can help determine the nature of the abnormality.

Lung and Chest Abnormalities

For certain lung nodules, masses, or other chest abnormalities that need tissue diagnosis, biopsy might be required.

Bone and Soft-Tissue Lesions

Can be used to assess bone or soft tissue problems that can sometimes be perplexing and questionable for histopathological evaluation.

Infections and Inflammatory Conditions

Tissue or samples from other areas can be taken for the purpose of aiding in the investigation of suspected infections or inflammatory changes clinically.

Unexplained Masses and Deep-Seated Abnormalities

A computer-generated study guides a physician in making this diagnosis and in determining a safe route for the doctor's needle to sample the internal abnormality.

Why Choose Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy?

Book Your CT-Guided Biopsy Consumable

Any charges or pricing for use of the CT-guided biopsy consumable may be mailed to Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy. A set of supplies and charges, in reference to the procedure for biopsy and clinical needs, can be created.

Test information: Fasting for 4–6 hours.

Reporting: Within 24 hours*

  • Follow the 4–6 hours of fasting instructions provided by the diagnostic centre before the associated CT-guided biopsy procedure.
  • Confirm with the radiology team whether plain water is permitted during the fasting period.
  • Inform your doctor and the radiology team about any ongoing medications, especially blood thinners or medicines that affect blood clotting. Do not stop any medication without medical advice.
  • Inform the team about any known allergies, bleeding disorders, or previous reactions to medicines or contrast agents.
  • Carry your doctor's prescription, previous CT, MRI, or ultrasound reports, and relevant medical records.
  • Follow the instructions provided by the radiology team regarding the biopsy site and procedure-specific preparation.
  • The consumables required will depend on the biopsy site, type of needle, nature of the lesion, and clinical requirements.
