Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, an advanced diagnostic radiology and imaging facility, has performed this USG Colour Doppler (CD) of the Right Upper Limb Arterial System at our diagnostic centre, which is NABL & NABH Accredited. A non-invasive ultrasound exam uses high-frequency sound waves and Doppler to check the blood flow in the right arm arteries. It is helpful to see whether arteries are normal and whether it can help identify arterial narrowing, blockage, or reduced blood flow that may affect circulation in the right arm and hand.
It is a special vascular ultrasound examination to evaluate the arteries that feed the right upper limb and the right hand. It gives information on the problems that might be in the arteries, the structure of vessels, and their blood flow. Examination of accessible vessels of the upper arm and forearm and other clinically indicated vessels. It can help with symptoms such as a tingling, numb sensation or a color change, and may suggest to physicians that there is less blood flowing in the arm.
USG Colour Doppler of the Right Upper Limb Arterial System is an imaging technique by using conventional ultrasonography and Colour and spectral Doppler which help to assess arterial blood flow in the right upper limb. It creates pictures of the arteries and assesses the flow of blood through the vessels, which can reveal narrowing, blockage, or other abnormalities of the blood vessels. The examination can be used to identify the presence of stenosis and occlusion in arteries of the upper right limb as well as some complications in the right upper limb's blood flow. Does not include injections and is not based on ionising radiation.
The exam allows detection of any constriction of the arteries, which can decrease blood flow to the right arm and hand. Doppler measurements provide information about whether the blood flow is normal or accelerated and the direction of blood flow in the vessel being measured.
Colour Doppler ultrasound could be able to detect part or total blockage in the artery. Results could aid physicians in evaluating how impaired the circulation is and if additional testing is warranted.
During the exam, the blood flow in the arteries to the right upper limb is tested. May have diminished flow in the event of an abnormal flow pattern (may be clinically assessed).
Arterial Doppler ultrasound could be useful to evaluate blood flow disturbances in some scenarios as an indication of possible vascular injury. Depending on clinical findings and suspicion of the injury, further imaging may be necessary.
It can be used to check the structure of your artery and detect any changes in blood flow from the upper part of your arm; this can be used as a tool to investigate some conditions related to blood flow in the upper arm artery.
USG Colour Doppler can be used to assess an established vascular abnormality or vascular findings after treatment and/or a vascular procedure.
Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy is an NABL and NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre with services in the field of Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Pathology. Our centre focuses on employing appropriate imaging protocols, improving the quality of the ultrasound examination, patient comfort, and producing the necessary and useful report. The imaging staff carries out procedures as scheduled in the protocol in order to help in the assessment of arterial circulation and clinical management in an appropriate manner.
If advised by your doctor, please contact Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy for the USG Colour Doppler of the Right Upper Limb Arterial System. Bring your prescription, any Doppler reports, and/or medical records (if available). If there is any pain, cold, colour changes, or past vascular surgery or other circulation problems, discuss these with the imaging staff.
