USG CD - RIGHT UPPER LIMB VENOUS

₹3000

Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, an NABL & NABH Accredited Diagnostic Centre, offers the most advanced Radiology and diagnostic imaging services in the form of USG Colour Doppler (CD) of the Right Upper Limb Venous System. The exam is done using high-frequency sound waves and Doppler technology, which is non-invasive and performed on the veins in the right arm to assess flow in the veins. It helps to evaluate venous circulation as well as it helps to identify abnormalities and blood clot, obstruction of the veins or any other vein-related problems.

About USG CD - Right Upper Limb Venous

USG Colour Doppler of the Right Upper Limb Venous System is a particular type of vascular ultrasound test to examine veins of the right upper arm and forearm. Provides information on vein blood flow, vein compressibility,, and the normal or abnormally present veins. By aiding in the evaluation of signs and symptoms, including swelling, pain, and changes in skin colour that could be related to venous conditions, it assists doctors.

What is USG CD - Right Upper Limb Venous?

The USG CD – Right Upper Limb Venous is an imaging technique that uses ultrasound and Doppler technology to evaluate venous blood flow in a specific portion of the body, the right upper limb. These ultrasound signals form an image of the veins; when colour Doppler and spectral Doppler are incorporated with those ultrasound waves, they can help to show the direction and pattern of the blood flowing in the veins. It could be helpful in the diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), obstruction in the vein, and other problems of the right arm circulatory system.

Common Reasons for USG CD - Right Upper Limb Venous

  • Arm Swelling: Helps with evaluation of unexplained swelling of either the right arm or forearm.
  • Pain and discomfort: Assesses venous circulation due to pain/tenderness of concern for a vascular condition.
  • Change in Skin colour: Helps to determine some changes in circulation of the arm.
  • Venous Insufficiency: May carry out a specific assessment of venous circulatory abnormalities, if clinically indicated.
  • Follow-up exams: Exams after treatment and/or on known venous abnormalities every few months, as recommended by a physician.

Conditions Evaluated

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

They can look for blood clots in the deep veins of your right upper arm and shoulder with the examination. In the event of possible thrombosis of the veins (clot) with an onset of suspicious symptoms, it is very important to conduct early evaluation.

Venous Obstruction

In the evaluated vascular strands, colour Doppler ultrasound may reveal characteristics potentially indicative of either venous narrowing or obstruction.

Abnormal Venous Blood Flow

The exam looks at the blood flow of the veins in direction and difficulty. If something is abnormal, it may be a circulation problem which will require further clinical evaluation.

Arm Swelling and Pain

USG Colour Doppler may be useful to investigate swelling, pain, or tenderness of the right arm, which may be due to venous causes. The results are related to the patient's symptoms and medical history.

Venous Device-Related Complications

Examination could become part of the evaluation of vessels available for vascular access in patients having certain venous catheters or other devices in the vessels for whom investigation is warranted in search of vascular thrombosis or other abnormal patterns of vascular flow, depending on the clinical indication.

Follow-Up of Venous Disorders

The all-purpose scan can be repeated to review some of the venous abnormalities previously diagnosed and treated or to track progress in the treatment and to review the effects of treatment when recommended by the treating doctor.

Why Choose Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy?

Molecular Diagnostics & Therapy (MDT) is a NABL & NABH Certified Medical Lab that provides Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Pathology services to its patients. The centre provides optimal Ultrasound Reporting and optimal patient comfort and clinically relevant Reporting to patients, with expertise in appropriate imaging protocols. Imaging staff follow culture-specific examination protocols to aid in venous circulation assessment in making clinical decisions.

Book Your USG CD - Right Upper Limb Venous

Please make an appointment with the Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy and take your prescription, previous Doppler ultrasound studies, or other relevant vascular imaging reports. Inform the imaging personnel if there have been any blood clots in the past or any procedures performed on the vessels, and advise them if there is something in the arms that may have caused some swelling/pain.

Test information: Usually, no fasting is required.

Reporting: Within 24 hours*

  • Fasting is not required for this examination.
  • Follow any specific instructions provided by your doctor or the diagnostic centre.
  • Bring your doctor's prescription and previous Doppler or ultrasound reports, if available.
  • Inform the medical staff about arm swelling, pain, previous blood clots, or vascular procedures.
  • Inform the staff about relevant medications, particularly blood thinners, and do not stop prescribed medication unless your doctor advises you to do so.
  • The procedure will be explained to you before the examination.
  • Wear clothing that allows easy access to your right arm and shoulder.
  • Inform the sonographer if you experience discomfort during the examination.
