Depending on the clinical requirement, the scan is performed using a transabdominal or transvaginal ultrasound.
A water-based ultrasound gel is applied for transabdominal scans. For transvaginal scans, a covered ultrasound probe is used.
The radiologist examines the ovaries and uterus and measures the size and development of ovarian follicles.
The endometrial thickness is also assessed to evaluate uterine lining development.
The procedure is safe, painless, non-invasive, and does not involve radiation.
The examination usually takes 10–20 minutes, and reports are generally available within 01 hour*.
