What is a USG Obstetrical / Fetal Well-Being Scan?

A USG Obstetrical / Fetal Well-Being scan is a safe, non-invasive procedure that helps evaluate the health of the baby in pregnancy. This procedure includes a biophysical profile (BPP) that assesses the movement and breathing of fetal, the tone of the muscles, and fetal heart activity. This scan also confirms the position of the fetus, location, and overall growth.

Common Reasons for USG Obstetrical / Fetal Well-Being

  • Assessment of fetal growth
  • Evaluation of reduced fetal movements
  • Monitoring high-risk pregnancies
  • Assessment of amniotic fluid volume
  • Placental evaluation
  • Pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • Gestational diabetes
  • Post-term pregnancy monitoring
  • Follow-up of abnormal obstetric findings
