About USG Whole Abdomen + TVS
A USG Whole Abdomen + TVS is a combination of Whole Abdomen Ultrasound and Transvaginal Sonography (TVS), which provides detailed organ imaging of the abdomen and female reproductive organs.
Transabdominal ultrasound (TVS) assesses the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, urinary bladder, and other abdominal organs; the ultrasound scans the whole abdomen (TVS) produce high-quality images of the uterus, the ovaries, cervix, endometrium, and the organs of the pelvic region. Combined examination is performed at Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy, which allows you to have a detailed evaluation in one sitting.

For the whole abdomen ultrasound, drink 4–6 glasses of water about one hour before the scan and do not urinate, so that your bladder remains comfortably full.

Wear loose and comfortable clothing for easy access during the examination.
Inform the sonologist if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, as TVS may not be appropriate in all situations.
Inform your doctor if you have active vaginal bleeding, pelvic infection, severe pelvic pain, or have recently undergone pelvic surgery.
Arrive at the imaging center at least 20–30 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
Follow all instructions given by the sonologist during both parts of the examination.

The sonologist will review your medical history, symptoms, and previous imaging reports before starting the examination.
The examination begins with a whole abdomen ultrasound while your bladder is comfortably full.
A warm, water-based ultrasound gel will be applied to your abdomen, and the transducer will be moved over the skin to examine the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, urinary bladder, and other abdominal organs.
After completing the abdominal examination, you will be asked to empty your bladder.
The second part of the examination is the Transvaginal Sonography (TVS). A sterile-covered ultrasound probe with lubricating gel will be gently inserted into the vagina.
The sonologist will obtain detailed images of the uterus, cervix, endometrium, ovaries, adnexa, and pelvic cavity, recording the necessary measurements and images.
If clinically indicated, additional views or Colour Doppler assessment may be performed to evaluate blood flow.
The examination is generally painless, although mild pressure or slight discomfort may be experienced during the TVS portion.
The complete examination usually takes 30–45 minutes, depending on the clinical indication.
After the scan, you can resume your normal daily activities immediately. The images will be reviewed by a radiologist, and the report is generally available within 1 hour.
